In emergency medicine, tourniquets are used to control severe bleeding in trauma patients. They are often used in conjunction with other hemostatic agents, such as hemostatic dressings and gauze, to control bleeding. The use of tourniquets in emergency medicine has been shown to reduce mortality rates and improve patient outcomes.

In the episode’s most memorable scene, a character known only as (a chilling performance by veteran actor Miriam LeCroix) appears on Kaelen’s broken television screen. She does not threaten him. Instead, she explains the rules of Tournike with calm, philosophical detachment:

For an independently funded series, Tournike Ep.1-2 punches well above its weight class. Cinematographer Elena Voss uses a claustrophobic 4:3 aspect ratio for scenes inside Kaelen’s apartment, expanding to a widescreen 2.35:1 only when he enters the Tournike facility. This visual language subtly communicates the character’s expanding (and forced) world.
